Artsmark
We are excited to announce St Peter’s is working towards an Artsmark Award. The Artsmark is an Arts Council accredited award to celebrate and recognise high quality Arts and creative learning in educational settings across England. At St Peter’s, we are committed to providing our children with an Arts-rich creative curriculum as part of their school day, as well as a vast array of varied and exciting extra-curricular opportunities to get involved with before and after school. We are very lucky to have an Arts Team of specialist teachers in Drama, Dance, Art and Music that are dedicated to providing engaging and inclusive Arts experiences throughout the school year, such as: our Year 3 Nativity plays, Shakespeare for Schools Festival, Year 6 productions, workshops, concerts, showcases, competitions, performances, and trips.
We are really proud of our investment in our purpose-built Arts learning spaces, including our Studio and Art Annex and impressive range of resources, such as our professional ballet mirrors, staging and stage lighting equipment, and range of musical instruments. We also have a team of student Arts Leaders from Years 4-6, who are fully committed to the Arts at St Peter’s and take an active role in the direction of their Arts education. They are enthusiastic ambassadors for the Arts and help support fellow students and the Arts Team teachers with our many Arts events, clubs and performances. We have been working towards our Artsmark Award for a few years now and have recently submitted our final Statement of Impact for assessment, and we look forward to updating everyone with our result in due course!
