Shakespeare for Schools

The Years 5 and 6 St Peter’s Performers group performed The Tempest at the Gulbenkian Arts Centre in Canterbury this week as part of the Shakespeare for Schools Festival and it was an amazing experience! The day began with a visit to the Gulbenkian Arts Centre for our tech and dress rehearsal, where we worked with a professional backstage team to add lighting and sound effects to our show. It was a brilliant opportunity to perform our production on a professional stage and alongside two local secondary schools in the festival. We were praised by the Shakespeare for Schools Team for our expressive and confident delivery of the Shakespearean language, defined characters as well as ensemble acting, and spectacular dance routines! We are so proud of our performers, they were so professional, confident and enthusiastic throughout the festival- well done for your wonderful team work, dedication and creativity!

Thank you to Mrs Baker for all of your hard work and to Mrs Porter and Mrs Newport for supporting you.
